Attention, Company by Bvt. Capt. K. S. Claytor

Attention, Company. I will open this season's campaigning by thanking all of you for the opportunity to lead the company once again. We have a great deal of work ahead of us this year. We expect to bring in a number of new recruits as the season begins. Some of them joined us over the winter quarters period, some are veterans and some will be fresh fish.

We also welcome the spiritual barometer of the company, Blake Bufford, back to the ranks in the honorable role of Private soldier and best field chef in the company (Frenchy's day-long roast pork at Murphy's not excepting...). Blake has forsaken the perks and privileges of Brigade Staff life to come back and pick ticks, fleas and greybacks in the moist, aromatic warmth of the Possum Pile.

Also resisting the temptations of the Big Tent will be our own Tony "Suspended" Fuzie, who forsook an easy ride to staff in order to nurture the bonds that get sticky with his pards. This is all, of course, due to the gracious counsel of the one man who keeps the entire company tethered firmly to the ground -- yes, that is none other than Corporal James "Jimbo the Wise" Thompson. We thank Jimbo for his wise counsel and hospitality over Winter Quarters.

I also want to welcome a True Son of Tennessee, Mr. Andrew Quist, lately of Franklin (the town that brought you that famous Pizza Hut) Tennessee. He fought with us at Chokamauga (it's Cherokee for "River of Dust") as a member of Rambo's Brigade. Another veteran joining us will be Mathew Crumley. Matt and I rode together some time ago in the 1st Virginia Cavalry. He has lately returned from matters that took him from active service, and has transferred to the infantry.

Enlisted Members of the should also report for duty with 40 rounds of ammunition in their cartridge boxes, which shall be inspected by the non-commissioned staff.

On the morning of March 24, the Company shall be inspected for readiness. Weapons, uniforms, knapsacks, bedrolls, haversacks, and their contents shall be inspected, and for any deficiencies found a quick plan of action shall then be determined.

Live Fire by 1st Sgt. D.C.Lund

Possums! Once more, into the breach ...

We rescheduled the live fire for Saturday March 10 at 9:00 am. Again we will meet at Bobby Lloyd's house. After the live fire Jimbo & Teresa have asked us back to their house again for food and war games.

This past weekend and Jimbo's we had a great time. We played war games into the late evening Saturday and in the morning Sunday. The Yankee's won all four battle's and Bobby Lloyd's 14th Tennesseans did not fare well, but it was their first engagement and Bobby promises to be better prepared next time. In attendance were, Bobby Lloyd Frazier, Tony Fuzie, Brian Garmire, Dennis Henderson, Andrew Hall, Ryan Downs, Loren Darcy, Dave Lund and of course our gracious host Jim Thompson.

I want to thank our hostest Miss Teresa and Tony's wife Linda Fuzie for taking great care of us and preparing exellent food all weekend.

Be sure sure to mark your calendars for Saturday March the 10th for another great day of games and shooting (as long as Mother Nature behaves this time).
